Welcome

Hi,

My name is Cherie Anderson, I am 5 years old. My only dream is to be able to walk. I’d like to thank you for taking the time to look at my website.

I have a condition called Cerebral Palsy, Spastic Diplegia which means my legs are very stiff, they ache a lot and I need to wear splints every day. I use my walker and wheelchair as my balance is not very good and my legs get tired sometimes. My family and friends are trying to raise enough money to get me to USA for an operation to help me walk and live an independent life. The surgery will also reduce me getting deformity problems in my body as I grow. The operation is called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy or SDR, and is performed by Dr. T.S Park at the St. Louis Children Hospital in Missouri. This operation is not yet available in Ireland.

My website has been setup to help raise awareness and hopefully generate enough support and donations to help me get to America, to have a life changing procedure which will make my legs work better.

Our target amount is €60,000. This will cover the SDR operation, orthopaedic surgery for my hamstrings, stay at the hospital, 4 weeks post-op physiotherapy at the St. Louis hospital, and two months intensive physiotherapy after returning home from USA.

Please have a look around the site, to find out further information about my condition and the operation, and the many ways you can help support my cause.

Love,

Cherie
